Dear Hamilton School Parents & Families,

On behalf of Hamilton School’s staff, I would like to welcome our new and returning students and families to the 2025-2026 school year! We are looking forward to seeing all of our students on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 2nd.

Please carefully review the following information and continue to check our Hamilton School Website (https://ha.brrsd.org/) - especially the Parent Resources section (which you can find by clicking on the Menu on our homepage) - on a regular basis.

Open House

Back-To-School Nights

During the summer, all of the District’s primary schools have been undergoing significant construction projects relating to upgrading our HVAC systems and preparing for our transition to Full-Day Kindergarten in the 2026-27 school year. As this construction work is currently ongoing, there will be no Open House before the start of this school year.

However, to provide an early opportunity for parents/guardians of our youngest students to meet their children’s teachers, we will be hosting Back-To-School Night for parents of students in Kindergarten through Grade 2 during the first week of school, and a similar event for parents of students in Grades 3 & 4 will follow later in the month. Each Back-To-School Night will be held from 6:30-7:30 PM, as follows:

  • Thursday, September 4th: Kindergarten & Grades 1-2

  • Monday, September 15th: Grades 3-4.

PowerSchool Parent Portal

Our District uses the PowerSchool Parent Portal to allow parents/guardians to access information specific to their child. Parents/guardians should use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to view homeroom class placement and bus information, complete annual back-to-school forms, confirm emergency contact information, review student attendance throughout the year, provide notification about absences, tardies, and/or changes in dismissal, and access report card information for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th marking periods (please note there is no report card for the 1st marking period ending in November, as the parent-teacher conferences provide a report of progress).

Parents/guardians of students in K-4 will be able to access the PowerSchool Parent Portal during the course of the day on Friday, August 22nd. Please click here to access the Parent Portal, and here for the Parent Portal User Guides.

Daily Schedule

Each day, students follow a schedule that includes all of their core classes and at least one Related Arts class (Art, Library, Music, P.E., & Technology). The scheduled times for student arrival, the start of the school day, and student dismissal can be found on our website (click here) and are as follows:

How To Stay Informed

We regularly update our school website with news about Hamilton, including our calendar of events. In addition, we send a regular monthly newsletter to all parents/guardians. Please also consider downloading our District’s app (click here), which provides up-to-date information regarding Hamilton and all our District’s schools.

Hamilton PTO

The PTO partners with the school on programs and activities that support Hamilton’s student-centered goals. Please visit Hamilton Primary School PTO for more information.

Before and After Care

Before / After Care at Hamilton is provided by the District’s BR Cares program. Please visit the BR Cares website (click here) for all program information.

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

For a 15-minute period during Arrival (8:00 - 8:15 AM) and a 20-minute period during Dismissal (2:30 - 2:50 PM), only school buses and vans are permitted to drive onto school property. These restrictions help us to ensure a safe and efficient Arrival and Dismissal procedure. We will share more detailed information regarding our Arrival and Dismissal procedure in a separate communication before the start of the school year.

Finally, please do not hesitate to contact the Main Office if you have any questions regarding the start of the school year. Once again, welcome to the 2025-2026 school year at Hamilton!

Sincerely,

Timothy J. Beaumont, Principal
