Message from the Superintendent

Good afternoon. I hope the first four weeks of school have been a success for your family and students.  The start of the fall season presents the chance to look forward to and plan for the opportunities that are available to students and parents in the coming weeks. I strongly encourage you to check your student’s school calendar and make it a priority to attend scheduled in-person events.

Another essential source for parental information is our Bridgewater-Raritan App, where school events and messages are regularly broadcast. I've included additional information for you at the bottom of this newsletter.

As a district, we are continuing to evaluate school schedules for the 2026/27 school year. Profound changes are underway at BRRSD as we transition grade levels, prepare for the addition of full-day kindergarten, and relocate the 6th Grade to the Middle School. These changes are designed to serve our student population better and enhance the learning experiences for all students who call Bridgewater-Raritan their home.

Thank you for the continued support.

Students Making Use of Modern Facilities

As the second month of school begins, district-wide facilities upgrades are evident, directly benefiting students. The High School Auditorium, a central hub for the performing arts, is nearly complete and ready for student use, offering a facility that will enhance and reflect the talents of the performing arts community.

Additionally, the Basilone stadium complex is nearing completion with comprehensive updates, including renovations to the fieldhouse, a new playing surface with track and turf, upgraded seating, and improvements to the varsity baseball field. The final phase of this renovation aims to include the adjacent Bridgewater Township softball fields, with preliminary discussions underway with township officials to provide a facility that will serve athletes and Bridgewater Recreation participants for many years.

Students Demonstrate Major Gains on AP Exams

Bridgewater-Raritan students are achieving at record levels on Advanced Placement exams, reflecting both growing participation and outstanding results. Since 2020, the number of students taking AP courses has risen steadily from 599 to 743, with exams administered increasing to more than 1,700 this year. Even more impressive, the percentage of students earning a score of 3 or higher has soared to 95.42% in 2025—an all-time high for the district. These remarkable gains showcase the hard work of our students and teachers, as well as the district’s commitment to preparing every learner for success beyond high school.

“The AP results demonstrate our commitment to student opportunity and equity. We have expanded access to our higher-level classes, and our teachers and students have responded with positive results. I am excited to see the continued growth of the school district in this measure,” said Superintendent Robert Beers

LEAD Program Highlights Collaboration with Bridgewater PD

The Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District and the Bridgewater Township Police Department have continued their collaborative and professional relationship by partnering to bring the LEAD (Law Enforcement Against Drugs and Violence) program into the district this school year.

Nine Bridgewater Police Officers will teach this class to 5th-grade students at both Eisenhower Intermediate School and Hillside Intermediate School as part of their Health and Physical Education course.

This program educates youth about the risks of drug use, bullying, and violence, and will be offered during the first and second semesters this school year.
