Course Selection and Assessments

End of Year Grading Procedures

Summative Assessment grades will be part of Quarter 4 and will be equivalent to a proportional test or project grade.  Assessments begin June 10th.

Quarter 4 will not have a Basement Grade of 50. Students will get the actual grade that they earn in Q4 of a full-year course.  This does not apply to semester courses.

Each Quarter grade is worth 25% to tally the final (F1) course grade.

Option II

If your child would like to request Alternate PE, Service Learning, or Credit Acceleration, they should plan to meet with their school counselor to discuss their interest. If viable to pursue, a link to the Option II form will be shared. .

Option II Deadlines:

  • Acceleration Credit - June 3, 2026
  • Alternate PE - Applications must be submitted within the first calendar week of the applicable marking period

Department Happenings

Mid Point of Q4 in the School Counseling Office

May 12th marks the mid-point of Q4!  It is an important time for students to reach out to their teachers if they have any concerns about their grades. Additionally, please take note of absence totals, warning/loss-of-credit notifications, and general attendance guidelines.

School counselors will continue to meet with students regarding attendance and provide support where needed. We will also be meeting with students who experienced challenges during Marking Period 3 to help them develop a plan for a strong finish to the school year.

Juniors have been provided with brag sheets through their counselors’ Google Classrooms. Students are encouraged to complete these forms as they are an important component of the college application process.

Additionally, juniors are encouraged to begin thinking about letters of recommendation and should consider reaching out to two teachers before the end of the school year.  Please reach out to teachers in person.
