NJSLA Exams

New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA) will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 29 & April 30,  the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA) in Grade 9 English Language Arts (ELA), Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Grade 11 Science will be administered.

Practice tests are available by following these steps: 

  • Online Practice Tests
  • Practice Tests
  • Continue as Guest
  • Guest Session
  • Select Grade (High School)>New Jersey Practice Tests
  • Select the Practice test.
  • Scroll through the Testing Attributes and click “Select”
  • Follow directions and click “Begin Test Now”

The College Admissions Panel

Open to students and parents in grades 9-11.
This is an opportunity to hear directly from admissions counselors on the current trends, how to create your college list, and how to make a strong application.  No registration required. 

Trades Night Event

Open to ages 16-24, students interested in pursuing a trade after high school are invited to the upcoming event on April 16, 2026, from 6-7:30pm. It will bring together local trades professionals, educators, and community members to share real-world career pathways and resources with students interested in learning more about careers in the skilled trades.  Click here to register.

The Senior College Prep Program

When: Mar 24, 2026 at 7:00 PM (Virtual Presentation)

 

This presentation will cover the financial aid process and the important items to consider before High School Seniors attend their Freshman year of college.

RVCC Application Workshop

Juniors - March Lunch & Learn

Topic:  Letters of Recommendation 

 

Dates: March 23rd and 27th from 10:30-11 am in the Career Resource room in the Counseling Office.  Sign up via Mrs. Kaiser’s Google Classroom (Sign Up Genius Link)

 

You can schedule a meeting with Mrs. Kaiser at any time to discuss post-secondary options (college, military, trade/technical schools, gap year, workforce, etc.). Please utilize the link in my Google Classroom under the classwork tab

Course Selection and Information

Scheduling for the 26-27 School Year concludes on March 27th.

Online course registration has concluded. Your child’s school counselor will be meeting with your student individually to review their course selections through March 27th.

Option II

If your child would like to request Alternate PE, Service Learning, or Credit Acceleration, they should plan to meet with their school counselor to discuss their interest. If viable to pursue, a link to the Option II form will be shared. 

Option II Deadlines:

  • Acceleration Credit - June 3, 2026
  • Alternate PE - Applications must be submitted within the first calendar week of the applicable marking period

Department Happenings

Marking Period 3 Snapshot in the School Counseling Office

Friday, March 27th, marks the last day for students to make changes to their course requests for the 2026-2027 school year. If your child is unsure of their selections, please have them reach out to their school counselor. The Q3 Academic Update will be sent out on March 24th. With the marking period ending when we return from spring break, students should review this with their families. This is an important time for students to reach out to their teachers if they have any concerns about their grades. If needed, students can also request a meeting with their school counselor using their counselor’s booking link.

 

School Counseling Groups During Unit Lunch

The School Counseling Department has been offering counseling groups throughout the school year during unit lunch. These groups offer a supportive environment for students to connect with peers, develop skills, and set or work toward personal goals. Students may join at any time; those interested should contact their school counselor directly.
