Sophomore Career Exploration

During these sessions, students will complete a career assessment in Naviance and learn how to use Naviance as a valuable tool for career planning and exploration.

Marking Period 3 Snapshot in the School Counseling Office

Marking Period 3 marks the halfway point of the school year! This is an important time for students to reflect on their academic goals and progress so far. School counselors will be reaching out to students who failed any class in MP3. All students may schedule an academic progress check with their counselor at any time by using their counselor’s booking link.

School Counseling Groups During Unit Lunch

The School Counseling Department has been offering counseling groups throughout the school year during unit lunch. These groups offer a supportive environment for students to connect with peers, develop skills, and set or work toward personal goals. Students may join at any time; those interested should contact their school counselor directly.

Currently Running Groups:

  • Art Unlocked Group
  • Boys Group
  • Cancer Support Group
  • Unplug & Kick It Old School Group

Seniors

Senior Google Classroom Code: 5c2eyoy

A reminder that you should be checking your college portals to keep track of your application materials.  It can take them weeks to update them due to the volume of applications they receive, so please be patient if materials still show as missing.  You can check Naviance to see if your counselor documents and teachers' letters have been sent. Be sure to check your email regularly as well.

For any Senior who does not intend to pursue a 2-year or 4-year college, please make sure you have met with your counselor to discuss your future goals, or see Mrs. Kaiser if you need assistance in creating a plan.

Juniors

Junior Google Classroom Code: bq54mdyl

Starting in January, Mrs. Kaiser will be hosting Lunch and Learn sessions in the career resource room in guidance during the lunch block.  Each month will feature a different topic-students should only sign up for one session per month.  January’s topic is “Where do I start?”  which focuses on how to approach the college process, whether you have an intended major or are undecided.  The topics will include various resources for conducting college searches, setting up visits/tours, and finding academic, social, and financial fit. Please sign up via Mrs. Kaiser’s Google Classroom.  Bring your lunch!

This week’s sessions will be on 1/13 and 1/15!
