Second Marking Period

The first day of the Second Marking Period is November 11th. With the start of MP2, your child gets a fresh start to the marking period. Encourage them to stay on top of their assignments and connect with their teachers. If your child needs support, they can always meet with their assigned School Counselor for resources and helpful strategies.

Get Involved!

The beginning of the year is the perfect time to join clubs and activities, as well as find opportunities for volunteer work in the community. The BRHS Clubs and Activities List is a great way to see the various clubs BRHS has to offer, as well as how to get involved. The Volunteer Opportunities List provides information on the numerous opportunities to provide service to our community.

College & Career Counseling

Juniors

You are encouraged to attend Junior Planning Night with your parents.  Counselors will meet with you in December to begin the college search process, utilize Naviance, and review important information.

Going Merry is teaming up with Collegewise to host a free webinar for students and parents on November 13 at 7:00 PM EST / 4:00 PM PST – Finding Your Fit: Helping Students Choose the Right College.  This session will help students and their families understand how to create a college list that aligns with their goals, interests, and budget. It’s a great way for them to hear from admissions experts and start the process with confidence.  Registration link: Collegewise Webinar

Seniors

A reminder that you should be checking your college portals to keep track of your application materials.  It can take them weeks to update them due to the volume of applications they receive, so please be patient if materials still show as missing.  You can check Naviance to see if your counselor documents and teachers' letters have been sent. Be sure to check your email regularly as well.

For any Senior who does not intend to pursue a 2-year or 4-year college, please make sure you have met with your counselor to discuss your future goals, or see Mrs. Kaiser if you need assistance in creating a plan.

You can follow all of the College & Career updates on Instagram @brhscollege!
